Structural Steel Framework
Structural steel is the heavy steel used as the load bearing member of a structure. This category of steel is used for the construction of transmission line towers, manufacturing sheds, and buildings.
BridgeFab specialises in medium sized structural steel projects ranging from 5T to 300T
Structural steel has a diverse range of applications. Structural steel acts as the skeleton of a new building, factory or extension to an existing structure. Structural steel provides excellent strength and durability, and it can also be recycled and used again later on.
Almost any shape can be designed and fabricated, since steel can be welded together for strength. No matter the job, BridgeFab can take preliminary designs from a client, architect or engineer and work up detailed drawings and 3D models that can then be fabricated.
Two examples of this includes the refurbishment of the Ipswich hospital and the very demanding work required to fabricate and install UQ’s Global Change Institute.
BridgeFab has the demonstrated capacity to create custom one-offs that require attention to detail. This capacity can then be used in any project irrespective of complexity: school halls, portal sheds or industrial premises – indeed anything that calls for a steel framework.

Boutique/Architectural Steel
BridgeFab does commercial scale boutique steel fabrication
Boutique steel fabrication is taking your usual steel fabrication to another level. When we say boutique, we are referring to structural steel works like UQ’s Global Change Institute. For this project, BridgeFab fabricated structural steel into specific shapes, such as trees adding to the forest motif.
Being able to undertake boutique-style steelwork (both small and large scale) for our clients is what helps BridgeFab stand apart from the crowd. BridgeFab can take a client’s idea and turn it into designs and drawings.
Computer aided design software, Tekla will then design a 3D model to showcase to you, the client to assess prior to steel fabrication. Once we have engineering approval and consent to proceed, the fabrication will begin.
The steel is tested and installed by our team too. We have four erection teams which can accurately install the steel and turn the drawings into a reality.
Large-scale steel fabrication
If you are looking for a steel fabricator capable of producing commercial-scale steel planning and fabrication, choose us.
We utilise 3D scanners and software to ensure fabricated structural steel is perfectly designed down to the millimetre.

FAQs
CC3 certification benefits clients by ensuring that all structural steel fabrication and welding meet the highest industry standards for safety, quality, and compliance. It guarantees that every project, from complex infrastructure to commercial buildings, is completed with precision, reducing the risk of delays, costly rework, or safety issues. Clients gain peace of mind knowing that their steelwork is reliable and meets strict regulatory requirements, while also enhancing the credibility of the project. With CC3 certification, clients can trust that BridgeFab’s expertise and adherence to top-tier standards will deliver durable, safe, and compliant results every time.
BridgeFab maintains its CC3 certification through a combination of regular audits, ongoing employee training, and continuous investment in advanced technology and equipment. The certification requires the company to adhere to strict industry standards for structural steelwork and welding, which is ensured through periodic reviews and audits by Steel Compliance Australia (SCA). BridgeFab also prioritises staff development, ensuring that all team members are up-to-date with the latest best practices and safety protocols. Additionally, the company invests in state-of-the-art machinery and automation to enhance efficiency and precision in fabrication, all of which support the company’s commitment to maintaining the highest levels of quality, safety, and compliance across all projects.
No, CC3 certification primarily applies to projects that require the highest levels of safety, complexity, and compliance, such as large-scale, high-risk, or public infrastructure projects. While it is not mandatory for all types of steel fabrication projects, it is particularly important for those that involve critical structural elements or where public safety is a concern, like hospitals, schools, and commercial developments. For these projects, CC3 certification ensures that the steelwork meets the most stringent standards for quality and safety. However, for smaller or less complex projects, CC3 certification may not be necessary, though it can still provide added assurance of quality and reliability.
