“The Hayward-Midson Creative Precinct has reinvented what were originally two buildings separated by a party wall – one side was design technology and other was the art and drama department.
The new-look precinct breaks down dedicated spaces and the ‘chalk and talk’ style of teaching. There are more break-out spaces, design lounges and areas with flexible furniture configurations. Larger areas act as mini amphitheatres for performances or lecture spaces. Those areas that need some enclosure (such as machine workshops or editing suites) are now behind glass rather than opaque walls.”
